Flag Ceremonies
Every morning at 7:45 am and every evening at 5:45 pm the camp
holds
a flag ceremony in the council campfire ring. Troops are
encouraged to take part and share in this ceremony. Troops will
have the chance
to serve as color guard. At these assemblies special news is also
presented to all in camp.
Rest
Sleep can make the difference between a great or a poor week.
Each
person needs a certain number of hours of sleep each week.
Scoutmasters
should see that the camp is quiet from 10:00 pm until 7:00 am to
permit
those who wish to sleep a chance to do so.
Uniforming
Why do the Boy Scouts have a uniform? For the same reason that
the Indians who used to live in our area wore similar clothing
and for the same reason a football or baseball team wear a
uniform: because a uniform gives a standard to be met, promotes
group spirit, and designates
equality from the start among members within the group.
At camp the official Scout uniform is appropriate dress at
anytime during the week. We encourage units to wear their
uniforms during chapel services and request all Scouts to be in
full uniform for the evening meals and evening flag retreats.

The Trading Post provides a full selection of souvenir and

The Maumee Scout Reservation has been open since 1972 for Long
Term Summer Camp.
It consists of 605 acres in the Northwest corner of Jackson
County in the middle of the Hoosier National Forest. The camp has
a fifty
six (56) acre lake that on a clear day you can see it's bottom.
The fishing is great. There are eleven (11) campsites, and 2
cabins that can be used year round. The camp is capable of
supporting 200 campers a week.

Tenderfoot,
Second Class & First Class requirements. Scoutmasters are
invited to help us.

difficult Knots, Compass Techniques and other basic Scoutcraft
Skills.
The good old reliable "hands-on-approach" will be taken
