Fall of 2008 took the houseboat industry to the lowest levels seen in a long time. Company president, Sheldon Graber, over the years had looked into the possibility of building full hull boats, but stayed busy in the niche market of building high end twin hull boats. With the economy down he felt it was time to expand the product lines to keep market share. In doing so, there was a design link between the two hulls. A full hull known for storage capablility and the compartmentalized hull which keeps the safety factor Destination Yachts is known for.
Destination Yachts new "V Series" boats have all the safety of a twin hull and the design and storage capabilities of a full hull. This creates the safest full hull on the market today. Each side and every five feet of hull has an air tight compartment. This allows for the center of the hull for storage and avoids major disasters associated with some full hull boats.
