Recreation Swimming, tennis, picnic areas with grills and playground facilities are typical of the recreational opportunities found in the Washington, Odon and Montgomery City Parks. Three parks in Washington cover more than 100 acres and community also maintains an Olympic-size municipal swimming pool. The Washington Country Club, a semi-private club, offers it members a nine-hole golf course and clubroom facilities. Country Oaks, an 18-hole golf course is just east of Washington. A practice green, driving range & well stocked pro shop are just a few of the enmities this facility offers. A large sports complex has been constructed in Washington. It includes soccer fields, a very popular sport among young folks in Daviess County. Other Daviess County recreational activities include: Adult Softball, Basketball, Runners Club, Volleyball, Little League, Senior League, T-Ball, Soccer Federation and Bowling. Several annual festivals and fairs take place throughout the year such as the Turkey Trot in Montgomery and the Odon Settler's Festival in Odon. In southern Daviess County is the Glendale Fish & Wildlife Area, which includes a game reserve and a lake for fishing. Boggs Creek Park, a joint Daviess-Martin County venture has been created out of two square scenic tract of land, north of Loogootee.
